Every year, the CMKL Open House opens the doors of CMKL University to future students, parents, teachers and anyone curious about studying AI and computer engineering. In 2025, Canarie was proud to be part of it once again, and this time we came with a message we care deeply about: Let AI be your Teacher.
Canarie was born at CMKL University, and the university has supported us at every step, from our first prototype to the platform we're building today. Presenting our work alongside other student projects, on the same floor where many of us study, is something we never take for granted.
When we first joined the Open House in 2024, Canarie was an AI tutor helping students with their courses. Over the past year, the platform has grown a lot. We've listened to students, tested new ideas and rebuilt large parts of the experience based on what learners actually need.
The result is a platform that teaches computer-related topics through an AI learning assistant, personalized support and career-oriented learning, with customization options for schools and organizations. For the 2025 Open House, we wanted visitors to see and feel that difference for themselves.

Our poster, Let AI be your Teacher: Discover the Future of Learning, introduced three ideas that sit at the heart of Canarie today.
Gamification. Learning works best when it feels less like a chore and more like a challenge you want to take on. Canarie uses gamification to create an engaging learning environment. Students take part in interactive exercises and earn rewards through game elements like quests, leaderboards and badges. There's even a game built inside Canarie, and an integrated online IDE lets students practise coding right in the browser, without any setup.
Learner's Intuition. Every student learns differently. Canarie's Learner's Intuition looks at each student's progress and suggests the exercises and learning paths that make the most sense for them next. Instead of guessing what to study, students get a clear direction that adapts as they improve.
Course Customization. Schools and organizations have their own goals, so Canarie lets them tailor learning experiences to their needs through a template-based system. We like to describe it as building a pizza: start with a solid base, then choose the toppings that fit your learners.
The best part of any Open House is the people. Throughout the day, our team talked with high school students exploring their options, parents asking how AI fits into their children's education, and teachers curious about how tools like Canarie could support their classrooms. Seeing visitors try the platform and come back with questions was a great reminder of why we started building Canarie in the first place.
A few questions came up again and again:
- "Will AI replace teachers?" Our answer is no. Canarie is designed to support teachers, handling practice and feedback at scale so that teachers can focus on the moments where they matter most.
- "Is it only for programming?" Computer-related topics are where we started, but the approach behind Canarie (personalized paths, instant feedback and engaging practice) can work for many subjects.
- "Can schools use it?" Yes. Course customization was built with schools and organizations in mind.
Every conversation gave us something to think about, and many of the ideas we heard that day have already found their way into our roadmap.
The 2025 Open House was a milestone for us. It showed how far Canarie has come since its early days as a student project, and how much further we want to go. Our goal hasn't changed: to make high-quality, personalized learning available to every student, not just those who can afford a private tutor. We can't wait to show you what's next.
